153 Yasmina El Babarti a story of resilience and entrepreneurship

Yasmina El Babarti Jimenez

Yasmina El Babarti Jimenez comes from a modest background. As the daughter of an immigrant, her family went through many hardships as she was growing up.

At age 12 Yasmina started working and never stopped ever since. She paid for her own education working and studying full time.

From the beginning she was always interested in community building and leadership.

As a woman, she was confronted with barriers men don’t have to face, but she persevered and slowly she built a network of supporters.

Before starting her own business, MY WORKSHOP, she had many doubts and fears but regretted the fear of regret, even more, so she took the plunge and started her own business.

Yasmina El Babarti Jimenez didn’t jump out of a cliff and grew wings on the way down, as many coaches suggest; she worked full time on her day job and full time on her business until she built a sustainable income, and then she quit her job.

Eight years in business as an Business Coach

To celebrate her eight years in business as an International Business Coach and the owner of My Worshop, Yasmina shared 8 lessons she learned throughout her entrepreneurial journey.

  1. Be authentic even when being authentic doesn’t get you a seat on the table
  2. Learn to learn, unlearn and relearn
  3. Be accountable for yourself, your team and your partners
  4. Master the art of saying no, not every opportunity is right for you and your business
  5. Invest in yourself, your business and others
  6. They say that cash flow is king, well I say follow-ups is the Queen of cash flow
  7. Learn how to recognize and let go of the “unnecessaries”: – unnecessary expenses, activities, and commitments – negative or insecure people – negative or limiting thoughts and beliefs
  8. Take action and action will take you to places you never imagined and few have gone to.
