The role of luck in business and life

We all get our share of bad luck events and good luck events.

But there are ways in which we can increase our probabilities to increase the amount of good luck that we get or to reduce the amount of bad luck we get.

Let’s use a few examples

Going to Toastmasters meetings increases my luck as a publick speakerExample #1. Every Tuesday, I go to my local Toastmasters club to learn how to speak in public and to make new friends who also would like to become better communicators. Instead, I could go every Tuesday to the local bar, watch a sports game and drink two beers. Which one of these two events would increase the probability of being lucky in my personal and professional life?

Example #2. I could spend two hours on Friday evening, watching a Netflix show, or writing a blog post. Which one of these two would increase the probability of being lucky personally and professionally?

Example #3. I could spend a few hundred dollars on clothes that would make me look and feel better, or I could spend a few hundred dollars on a gym membership which will help me look and feel better. Which one do you think it will have a greater impact?

Can you share one instance in which you influence the amount of good or bad luck you get?
