It’ sounds like a bold statement, but Gold, Crypto-whatever, NFTS, and many others are non producing assets.
Let me explain:
When you buy stocks in a company, you expect that company will sell a product or a service that will generate revenues and hopefully a profit. A stock is a producing asset.
When you buy a bond. A company or a government is promising you some kind of interest payment. Your bond is a producing asset.
When you buy real estate, you are hoping to get rent money. Real estate is a producing asset.
But when you buy gold, or crypto-anything, those assets don’t produce anything. Gold sits there in a safety deposit box, doing nothing, until someone else is crazy enough to buy it from you. Gold prices have been underperforming the stock market and the real estate market for decades.
My tip for you:
Buy broad based index fund, sit down, and watch your money grow.
