Nancy Pelosi visits Taiwan

Pelosi’s Taiwan Visit was a dumb move. What was she thinking?

Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan was one dumbest political moves I have seen since I started to read about politics. There was absolutely nothing to gain for the U.S. and it created a lot of unnecessary tension. It only showed the arrogance or ignorance of some politicians, concerned about their ego, and not about the consequences of their actions.

Now, China is conducting military exercises around Taiwan, it has halted dialogue with the United States in a number of areas, including between military commanders and on climate change.

Pelosi knew that her trip will have dire consequences, but she decided her ego was more important.

What is the United States doing right now while China continues military exercises? Nothing! The U.S. is saying that “China is acting irresponsibly.” Watching from a distance. All those promises of intervention and cooperation have disappeared. Most wars or conflicts are the result of the ego of politician who they themselves don’t suffer the consequences of their actions.

China now has an opportunity to showcase its military power in the area while all the other nations in the region witness the great military progress China has made.

The inability of the United States to do something in response to China display of force it’s been seen by all the Asian nations as a sing that the U.S. power and influence in the Pacific is rapidly declining.

China has invested deeply, financially and diplomatically, in long-term plans to influence the region.

China keeps telling its Asian neighbors that it is their natural partner by geographic location and cultural commonality. It is trying to persuade them that the United States is a distant and declining power, with a broken political system, bound to lose its influence in Asia.
