Canada immigration is open to skill immigrants

Immigration Canada wants to bring more skilled foreign workers, and that’s a good thing

The Canadian government wants to bring more tech talent into Canada. And I want to congratulate the government on that decision.

Immigration Minister Sean Fraser announced that he wants to bring highly educated immigrants to Canada. This will bring up the standard of living of all Canadians.

Minister Sean Fraser announced the launch of a new dedicated pathway for permanent residents that is specifically available to workers in the STEM sector.

Notice that what you decide to study has a lot of repercussions for the rest of your life. Neither Canada nor any other country is the world is asking for more philosophy scholars, or English doctorates, or mythology majors. Those are careers that are more like hobbies that contribute to the social well being, but not much to the economy.

In addition, Canada is accepting more millionaires. Millionaires are individuals who have already proven their ability to create economic value. Even if they don’t work another day in their lives, they are bringing all that financial capital that can be put to good use in Canadian soil.

On the other hand, Canada prefers not to have uneducated immigrants. Immigrants who, as a percentage, rely more on Canada’s generous social benefits. Immigrants who are more a drain to our resources.

As a population, we should be happy about these immigration changes. We want more people who can help sustain our high standard of living, and we want less people who will drag that standard of living down.

Canada open its immigration arms to those who can contribute the most to the well being of all canadians and that’s a good thing.
