Is There A Lack Of Safety Measures In Your Business? Let’s Fix That

No business is secure against every single threat. It would be impossible to never be at risk, whether you’re an online only business or you have a physical location you need to safeguard.

But in the modern working world, it’s easy to focus on keeping your digital assets as safe as possible, and forget about the necessity of having physical security measures in and around your workplace.

You can’t just lock the door behind you and expect that to be the best line of defense. You’re going to need some ironclad safety measures in place too. Here are a few to think about incorporating.

Require Staff to Sign in

If staff have to sign in, you’ll always know who is on the premises, when they got there, and if they’re supposed to be there. Anyone not signed in either needs to be pulled up on this fact – as mistakes can still happen – or simply escorted out.

You can use both manual and digital sign-in systems for this. A logbook is the traditional way to go, but you can also use a computer check-in stationed near your front entrance. The latter can also make it much harder to gain access deeper inside your office, if you’re using an alarmed system that only allows those with the right passcode inside.

Contain Your Premises with Security Doors

Containing your premises can be difficult when you’re just using a standard door and lock. In the commercial sector, there needs to be another line of defense in place, especially if you have no access to shutters. That’s where a set of security doors could be a good investment for you.

Using security doors, or a set of DoorKing Maximum Security Gate Openers if you have larger, more industrial premises, will ensure it’s hard for anyone without designated access to get inside your business.

A security measure like this can prevent all manner of office buildings, warehouses, and workyards from being breached by unauthorised personnel. It’s a great extra layer of defense on top of requiring ID cards, or using a sign-in system to ensure only the right people are on site.

Never Skimp on CCTV

CCTV is the backbone of commercial security. You’re going to need a system of your own for the building you work in, as this will ensure you always have a birds eye view of what’s happening across your premises.

Both day and night, the CCTV will record who’s coming in and out; if any unregulated access occurs, you’ll catch the people involved on candid camera. And CCTV cameras are getting more and more subtle in the design, which helps to ensure they’re harder to block the view of.

If nothing else, never skimp on getting a proper CCTV system installed in your business!

Some businesses have very few safety measures, and suffer as a result. Don’t let your own company fall into this bracket. Follow the tips above for better physical security that ensures on-site safety.
