Deliberate Resting

Resting is NOT sitting on the couch eating chips, drinking beer and watching videos.

Deliberate resting is engaging the brain in some kind of creative activity.

For me, I dance tango every Sunday.

The ideal scenario is to find activities that both rejuvenate and excite you, you’ll be in a better position to do your best work. Alex Soojung-Kim Pang, one of the guests in my podcast and author of Rest: Why You Get More Done When You Work Less, explains:

“Work and rest are actually partners. They are like different parts of a wave. You can’t have the high without the low. The better you are at resting, the better you will be at working.”

What is your deliberate rest activity?
