4 Vital Pieces Of Information To Include On Product Packaging

People are always talking about how important product packaging is and all of the different things that it tells customers about your brand. But even though the design is important, you need to remember that packaging is, first and foremost, a functional item. A lot of businesses spend so much time thinking about branding that they don’t pay much attention to the information that they display on the packaging because they think that it’s secondary. However, when customers are browsing products, they will often read the packaging for more information so they can make their decision.

That’s why it’s important that you pay close attention to the information you provide and how you display it. Invest in high-quality printing plates so you can print clear text that is easy to read. Think about legibility when deciding on a color scheme too. When designing the layout of the packaging, place all of the important information so it is easy to find.

If you are in the process of designing your product packaging, here is some of the important information to include.

Manufacturing Information

A lot of consumers want to know how a product is made before they buy it, so they can choose based on the environmental impact. So, it’s important that you find ways to make your manufacturing process more eco-friendly, but also that you display information about the manufacturing process on the packaging. If you advertise the fact that you use eco-friendly materials and you have implemented measures to reduce your environmental impact, you will see a positive impact on sales.

Safety Instructions

This is not applicable to all products but if there is a potential risk to health when using your product, you absolutely must put safety instructions on the packaging. Make them as clear as possible and cover all bases. If you don’t have the right safety instructions on your packaging and somebody is injured while using the product, you could be liable for that. They will be able to take you to court and if you lose, you’ll be forced to pay out a large settlement. But as long as you provided the right safety directions, the fault lies with them and they don’t have a case against you.

Contact Details

Good communication with your customers is so important, which is why you should always put contact details on your packaging. If somebody has a complaint or something positive to say, they can easily get in touch. Put an address and phone number on there and add your social media details too. By putting social media handles on your packaging, you create another way to gain followers without the need to put much effort in.

Quantity And Weight

Again, this one is not applicable to all products but in many cases, it’s good to put the quantity and weight. If customers are trying to determine which product is the best value, being able to compare the relative size of each is very useful. Without this information on there, your product will probably be left aside during any comparisons.

Getting the branding right is important when you are designing your product packaging, but make sure you don’t neglect this important information.
