3 Tips For Creating Print Marketing Pieces

If you’ve been tasked with creating some sort of print marketing piece but you don’t have any experience with this, it’s important that you keep a few things in mind throughout the design process to ensure that, once your piece gets printed, it will look just as you’re envisioning it.

To help you figure out how this can be done, here are three tips for creating print marketing pieces.

Learn What Will Work For Your Audience

The first thing you want to think about, before you start designing any part of your print marketing piece, is who your audience is and what they want or expect. If the people that you’re trying to reach with your marketing piece don’t like it, it won’t prove to be successful for you, regardless of how beautifully created it was.

While you want to create your printed marketing piece in such a way that your audience will be able to recognize what it is, you also want to design your piece so that it grabs attention and gets people excited about whatever it is you’re advertising. This way, they’ll immediately be able to tell if what you’re marketing applies to them but will also notice that it’s different from what they’re used to seeing.

Be Unique In Your Shapes And Sizes

One way that you can be different and interesting when you design printed marketing materials is to play around with the shapes and sizes for what you’re creating.

While things like business cards and brochures are often a very uniform size, if you play with the proportions and make it either a bit bigger or smaller than people are used to, it can really help to make your printed piece stand out. You can also consider using something like a die-cut to either make the entire item a different shape than just a square or rectangle, or you can die-cut out shapes within your materials so that you have windows and openings that make your design more interesting.

Play With Texture And Dimensions

Texture and dimension can also help to give your life and personality to your printed marketing materials. In fact, when printed items have a different texture or are embossed in some way, your audience will automatically assume that your product is of a higher quality simply because you’re leveling up your printed marketing materials.

As you play with the texture and dimensions of your printed materials, you can add sophistication to your pieces and help your business stand out from the rest of the materials that are simply flat and smooth.

If you want your print marketing pieces to look and feel great to anyone that sees or touches them, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you in accomplishing this business goal.
