133 Jessica Moorhouse reveals how she makes her money

I have a confession. Ever since I have been following Jessica Moorhouse, host of Mo’ Money Podcast.  I have had a lot of admiration for her work, but also a little bit of jalousie. After I asked her about how much work she does,  I realized that I don’t want to work as much as her. My admiration is even stronger, and my jalousie is no longer there.

Jessica Moorhouse podcast front coverJessica opens up the kimono and reveals, in detail, how she makes money from blogging, podcasting, YouTube videos, Speaking, consulting, and selling her products and services.

I spoke to Jessica a year ago, on episode #31 in July 2018 and this was a great opportunity to catch up with her work.

The start and evolution of the Jessica Moorhouse business

She started her blog around the year 2012. In 2015 she started her own podcast Mo’ Money Podcast. She realized that podcasting was her passion and decided to make it her new career.

In the beginning, Jessica worked on her blog for about 12 hours per day, writing content, connecting with people, etc. She did some freelance writing and sponsored posts.

When she started her blog over 7 years ago, she just wanted it to be a way for her to track her finance journey and keep herself accountable. But over the years, it’s become so much more than that.

Now, her main focus as a money expert is to help as many people as possible with their personal finance problems and help them realize their dreams.

My biggest lesson from Jessica Moorhouse is her work ethic. She shows that anything in life is attainable if we are willing to put in the work.
