049 Jacquie Davis, England’s top female bodyguard; action, money, movies, public speaking

Jacquie Davis doesn’t watch action films, her whole life is an action film. Her job shifts from protecting the ultra-rich, celebrities, doing undercover work, rescuing people in hostile countries. On her downtime, she does public speaking, motivational or business.

Jacquie wanted to join the police force since she was a child, which she did when she was 18 years old (the 1970s), from those early days until now, her motivation is to fight for justice.

As a policewoman, she discovered the world of private bodyguard where she found close protection, surveillance, undercover work, and many other opportunities.

I am not a 9 to 5 kind of personAs a female bodyguard, she was treated as one of the guys. She also had physical training in Judo and arms combat.

Jacquie opened her own bodyguard agency, Optimal Risk,  and she had lots of success since the beginning. It turns out that being a female worked out to her advantage, for surveillance, intelligence gathering, or to be the companion of a rich person’s wife or daughter, etc.

Jacquie’s most regular clients are rich businessmen and their families. If the person runs the risk of being kidnapped, she is there to protect them.  She travels often, many times in private jets, stays at five or six-star hotels, but her workdays a range from 12 to 16 hours.

The bodyguard industry is growing, especially since 9/11. When Jacquie started as a bodyguard, she was getting paid 30 pounds per day, now she pays her employees about 300 pounds per day.

In one of her missions, Jacquie went to Pakistan to rescue a person, she did this while wearing a burka and a 9 mm Glock under her burka.

She also went to Colombia, infiltrated a well-known drug cartel to rescue another person.

Jacquie just turned 60 years old and she is still on the field. Wow…

Jacquie wrote a book called The Circuit, about the business of being a bodyguard. Also, Netflix is creating a movie about her life, with actress Noomi Rapace and director Vicky Jewson

She seems like a fascinating, strong, and brave woman. Thanks for sharing her story!

    1. Her story is fascinating. Jacquie goes around telling young women that they can be anything they want to be.

The world needs more strong women to be leaders and to be role models for the next generation.

You too, you are a role model to many continue being the brave woman you are. 🙂
